Pedestrians and Bicyclists Should Not Be Neglected
At a Capitol news conference today, I joined representatives of the American Heart Association, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Walks and Bikes, and other transportation, safety and health-related groups in support of bicycling in the Commonwealth. The transportation funding package that is currently under consideration by the General Assembly would provide funding to enable counties and municipal governments to build and maintain biking and hiking trails throughout Pennsylvania.
At the Capitol, I had the pleasure of being shadowed recently by Crystal Fountain and Justin Perry, students at Penncrest High School. Crystal, a junior, and Justin, a senior, are involved in the Penncrest Opportunities for Workplace Relationships program, a career mentoring program offered through the school.
